Founded in 2018 by Dave and Devy, Thai~Phoon is the first, and only, Thai restaurant on Bantayan Island. Using a play on words, the restaurant is named after the frequent typhoons that the island experiences every year.
We strive to keep our meals as authentic as possible and source many of our ingredients from Thailand. Most of our herbs are grown in our own herb garden. However, we do, on occasion, have to substitute ingredients for similar alternatives, whilst endeavouring not to jeopardise taste or quality.
Most of our dishes can be made as vegetarian, or even vegan. We even make our own vegetarian fish sauce! Please inform your server of any preferences or allergies you may have and we will do our best to accommodate.
Thai food is usually associated with spice and chilli. Whilst some dishes are inherently spicy we can usually prepare your food to individual tastes. Please choose from the strength table, again ingeniously named after the wind signals which are raised by the coastguard as typhoon strength intensifies! Alternatively ask for chillies on the side so you can do it yourself!
